About Ocity

Data-Driven
Relocation Decisions

Ocity helps people make smarter relocation decisions across the United States using structured public data, transparent scoring methods, and practical comparison tools.

We built Ocity for people who want more than promotional city guides and generic listicles. Moving is a high-stakes decision, and we believe it should be informed by data, not marketing.

What Ocity Does

Ocity brings together city-level information on affordability, taxes, income, safety, climate, housing, migration, and quality-of-life signals to help users compare places more clearly.

How Our Data Works

We use public and research-based datasets from established U.S. sources, then standardize, organize, and surface them through rankings, calculators, and comparison tools.

Depending on the dataset, information may be updated on different schedules. Some indicators move slowly, while others are refreshed more frequently as new data becomes available.

We aim to make every major scoring system understandable, reviewable, and useful in real decisions—not just visually appealing.

Editorial Principles

Ocity is an independent data product.

Rankings based on defined criteria & weighted inputs

We do not sell city rankings

No pay-for-placement in results

No sponsored scores disguised as analysis

Who Runs Ocity

Ocity is built and maintained by a small engineering-led team focused on data products, automation, and decision tools.

We keep the public brand lightweight, but we take the product seriously: source selection, normalization, clarity, and usability matter more to us than hype.

What Ocity Is Not

  • Ocity is not a real-estate brokerage.
  • Ocity is not a city tourism blog.
  • Ocity is not financial, legal, or relocation advisory service.

Ocity is a research and decision-support platform designed to help people evaluate U.S. cities more clearly.

Transparency

We believe trust comes from clarity. That is why we are working toward:

Clear methodology pages
Data source references
Update logs for major datasets
Explanations for rankings & tools
